"So much of the difference between a triumph and a flop is determined by choice of venue." - Anatoly Belilovsky

Have you ever attended an event, and you loved just how incredible the event was? Yeah. If you were asked to pick a hundred reasons why you think that event was fantastic, the venue might probably be your hundredth reason. Though not given so much attention, especially by the general public, the venue of an event plays a huge role in the success. Actually, to an event planner, the choice of venue is a massive one.

There are so many reasons why as an event planner, you need to get your venue right. From ensuring that your event flows along with the proposed plan to giving a fantastic experience to the event attendees, the venue of an event can be the difference between one event planner and another. Furthermore, picking the right venue for your event as an event planner can make the overall event planning process much more manageable, thus giving you ample time for the remaining extras and some last-minute preparations.

In choosing the right venue for your event, four critical factors you should consider are your attendees, the location of the venue, the kind of facilities that will provide adequate comfort for your attendees, and the atmosphere you want around the event venue.

Attendees

Knowing your attendees is vital in choosing a suitable venue for your event. For example, the category of people who go for an outdoor night party will be different from those who go for a book launch. So, it is essential to ask your clients what kind of audience they expect to be at the event. This will go a long way in choosing the right venue and the overall planning of the event.

Location

The location of the venue is also crucial. And to also get a good place, you need to have some information about your attendees. This takes us back to how important knowing your attendees are. Factors such as how accessible the venue is for travelers, nearby eateries and restaurants, and accommodations around the venue are what you should take into consideration. Thus, having a good knowledge of your attendees' demographics is vital for a suitable venue. A difficult venue location to access without reasonable accommodation (especially for distant travelers) leaves much to be desired.

Atmosphere

Another essential factor to consider is the atmosphere of the venue. What kind of atmosphere will your attendees prefer? Will you need an airy space or a cold area? Is the center attractive enough to make your attendees comfortable? If there are to be breaks between sessions of a particular event, will your attendees find it comfortable to step aside for some cool air? Are the venue receptionists and staffs approachable, friendly, and helpful?

Facilities

The facilities to be used during the event will also determine the venue. For example, significant events where you have top elites in the society as attendees will need much more facilities than a small event.

In conclusion, the importance of the venue location of an event cannot be overemphasized. As an event planner, you shouldn't reckon without one aspect of your event.
